Side event at FORTH
FORTH will be hosting the 61st CIDOC CRM Special Interest Group (SIG) meeting in October 2025. The meeting will take place from Tuesday 14/10 through Friday 17/10. It will primarily be held at the main building (meeting room "Stelios Orphanoudakis"), but the sessions of the last day will be held at STEP C-Building A (meeting room "Artemis Saitakis"). The program for the meeting can be found here.
The CIDOC CRM SIG is a volunteer community dedicated to the development and maintenance of a common standard for integrating cultural heritage data, namely the CIDOC CRM. The SIG works under the aegis of ICOM-Documentation, a committee of the International Council of Museums (ICOM).
The CIDOC Conceptual Reference Model (CRM) is a theoretical and practical tool for information integration in the field of cultural heritage. It can help researchers, administrators and the public explore complex questions with regards to our past across diverse and dispersed datasets. The CIDOC CRM achieves this by providing definitions and a formal structure for describing the implicit and explicit concepts and relationships used in cultural heritage documentation and of general interest for the querying and exploration of such data. The CIDOC CRM has been recognized as an official ISO standard. This status has been renewed since 2023 and can be found at ISO 21127:2023 (superseding the previous, ISO 21127:2014, renewal).
If you are interested in participating at the meeting, please register here.
